A Day at

Mar Thoma Sleeha Dayara, Nallathanni

Every second Saturday, a heartwarming tradition unfolds at the serene grounds of Mar Thoma Sleeha Dayara in Nallathanni. The community comes together for a day of spiritual rejuvenation, communal bonding, and a deeper exploration of Eastern Catholic spirituality.

The event commences with a delightful two-hour trek through the bountiful nature that surrounds the monastery. Led by the venerable Bishop Mar Jacob Murickan, the journey allows participants to immerse themselves in the beauty of the landscape while engaging in meaningful conversations.

A diverse congregation gathers, including monks, priests, religious individuals, families, and the spirited youth. United by their faith, they embark on this sacred journey, each with their own intentions and aspirations.

As the sun starts to set, the atmosphere transitions to one of reverence. The gathering moves indoors for the hours of liturgy 'Ramsha, Leliya etc', a profound spiritual experience that touches the hearts of all present. This is followed by a reflective session, where attendees explore the themes of the current liturgical season, drawing parallels between the natural world and their personal journeys.

During this gathering, there is a deliberate focus on practicing and delving into Eastern Catholic spirituality. Participants are encouraged to engage in deep meditation, guided by the traditions and teachings that are unique to this spiritual path.

Continuing the bond forged through shared spirituality, everyone gathers for a hearty dinner. In the midst of silence and contemplation, participants savor the meal, allowing the quietude to amplify the sense of community that defines the Nazrani Margam tradition.

The program reaches its culmination with another session of holy Raza on Sunday morning, further deepening the participants' connection to their faith and to one another.

The deacons play a significant role, leading the ceremonial preparation of the holy leavened bread, a symbol of unity and sustenance.

An essential aspect of the Nazrani Margam gathering is its inclusivity. This event is open to all, irrespective of their background or beliefs. Those who wish to join this meaningful experience and explore the depths of Eastern Catholic spirituality can do so by filling out a simple form. This step leads toward a day filled with spiritual growth, profound meditation, and the wonders of both nature and the spiritual tradition.
